Hotel wet riser and sprinkler system consists of:

Internal network of galvanised steel pipes for 2 number wet risers located at the two main stairwells in the hotel. These are supplied from underground water storage tanks, by a pressure pump system, or by Fire Department trucks.

Gate valves on each floor onto which the Fire Department can connect there hoses in case of fire, and a main Fire truck connection at the hotel entrance.

Internal network of galvanised steel pipes for 3 number sprinkler system areas, supplied by a separate pressure pump system.

1. Internal network of galvanised steel pipes for wet riser

These pipes are hanging from ceilings or are vertical on walls. They are connected to form a network. They are steel pipes that will not melt or get damaged in case of a fire. The water for the firefighting wet risers is supplied from an underground firefighting water storage tank via a pressure pump system. In case if the water tanks are empty, the Fire department can connect their fire trucks at the hotel entrance, to the system in order to supply water to the system.

2. Gate valves on each floor for fire department hose connection

A 2 ½” Gate valve is located on each floor of the hotel at the two hotel main stairwells in order for the Fire Department to connect their hoses in case of a fire. In case if the water tanks are empty the gate valves on each floor are supplied from Fire Trucks connected to the system at the hotel entrance.

3. Internal network of galvanised steel pipes for sprinkler system

The sprinkler system is located in three areas of the hotel (i.e. loading/unloading bay, and two parking areas within the hotel). The system is supplied via a network of galvanised steel pipes within the hotel, hanging from ceilings or on vertical walls. The pipes are steel so that they will not melt or get damaged in the case of a fire. The water for the firefighting sprinkler system is supplied from an underground firefighting water storage tank via a pressure pump system.
