Hotel water supply consists of the following:

Underground hot water storage tank

Water softener and underground soft water storage tank

Soft water inverter controlled pressure pump system

Network of water distribution pipes throughout hotel

Water manifolds

Pex C flexible pipe in pipe

Underground hard water storage tank

These concrete structures have been constructed by the main contractor and pre-insulated with special portable water isulation. They are filled from the main municipal water supply.

NETWORK OF PPR PIPES WITHIN CEILINGS TO SUPPLY MANIFOLDS

Water softener and underground soft water tank

The water from the hard water storage tanks will be pumped through a water softener to another underground soft water storage tank, with the same insulation. This water will be chlorinated automatically in order to be distributed throughout the hotel.

NETWORK OF PIPE IN PIPE (PIPES) FROM MANIFOLDS TO WATER POINTS

Portable soft water inverter pressure pump system

The soft water will be pumped with an inverter controlled soft water pressure pump system throughout the hotel. The inverter on the soft water pressure pump system, controls the speed and the starting and stopping of the pumps, in order to provide a constant water pressure through- out the hotel at all times.

TERMINATION OF PIPE IN PIPE PIPES AT WATER POINTS

Network of water distribution pipes throughout the hotel

The pumped soft water at constant pressure is distributed through a network of PPR (Polypropylene) pipes throughout the hotel. There are separate pipes for each floor of the hotel with isolating valves on each pipe. This ensures that if there is a problem in an area of the hotel, that particular area can be isolated and repaired without affection water supply to other areas of the hotel.

NETWORK OF PPR PIPES WITHIN CEILINGS TO SUPPLY MANIFOLDS

Water manifolds

The Network of PPR pipes from above, branch out and supply water to water manifolds. Each room has its own water manifold with isolating valve to the manifold from the main distribution PPR pipes. Each water point in the room has its own isolating valve on the manifold. This enables either isolation of the whole room or isolation of any water point in the room. Other areas of the hotel also have their own manifolds. Large areas such as the main kitchen and the Spa will have several manifolds, supplying different areas within the kitchen and Spa. The isolation of these is the same as in the rooms. Either the whole manifold or the separate water points within each area can be isolated.

TYPICALWATER SUPPLY MANIFOLD

Net Work Of PPR Pipes Within Ceilings To Supply Manifolds

Water from the manifolds is distributed to each water point with a system of Pex C flexible pipe in pipe. Each water point has its own pipe. The main water pipe is in a sleeve (hence pipe in pipe). The network of pipes is within the floor screeds. In the event of a damaged or burst pipe, the water can be isolated at the manifold.  The internal pipe within the sleeve can be removed and replaced within the existing sleeve in the floors screed. This means that there is no breaking of floors, screeds etc. in the event of a problem.
